Steering the ship of state by PeteAmachree Steering the ship of state by PeteAmachree
I've recently been watching Empire of the Seas on the BBC. A fantastic series about the history of the British navy, from Tudor times to the present day. This image was inspired by the episode that focused on the 18th century, and Britain's many wars with France and Spain.

So here we have Admiral George Anson outlining his grand strategy with senior naval commanders at navy HQ in Greenwich.

Incredible lighting! I love the sense of scale in this, it's very intimidating.:D Nice use of warm colors too, it adds to the tense atmosphere.
