"The developer wanted a traditional Stalinist realism aesthetic for this picture."......He sure as hell got it...before I read that line, I was thinking this looks very parliamentary/Jeffersonian/old school independence day artwork.....GREAT JOB.
I played Killzone a bit and liked it, but this even if I never knew was it was, I'd have to say this is perfectly illustrates that personality cult theme alot of pre-WWII Hitler images had - the way his peers seem to hang on his every word, and the power of his gestures. Really thoughtful work, makes it more than just a 'game' : ) You really did wonders here
Indeed. I resisted using photo ref for many years. I'm not sure which higher authority I thought I was satisfying by doing so. Ref won't buy you flair (not that you don't have plenty already of course ), it just oils the wheels, and can help to achieve a more realistic result.
Astounding detail all around; I'd say you hit the nail right on the head with that description. This barely looks like digital art at all with your techniques in play here! Very inspiring and creative and technically stunning! Superb art!
